Outreach and Education
Cahuilla Consortium had several opportunities to engage with community members this year and highlight several important prevention education topics. In January we were able to host several journaling, planner-making, and vision-boarding workshops with our consortium Tribal members and community. Our Stalking and Human Trafficking Awareness Month campaigns were successful on social media and we appreciate everyone who participated in our community action videos!
In February, we were able to highlight Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month with online prevention education materials as well as youth-centered presentations with Tribal community partners.
March allowed us the opportunity to provide an active ystander training for Cahuilla Casino staff to ensure readiness for any situation. We also attened the annual TANF Family Wellness Conference in Carsbad, CA and presented our “Write State of Mind: Wellness through journaling” workshop to attendees. We continue to be humbled by everyone’s willingness to be open-minded and creative in our educational programs.
Our Shelf Care Book Club is still going strong, with the Los Coyotes chapter reaching a year of membership!
Victim Services
We continue to provide 24/7 support for anyone victimized by violent crime, and are encouraging folks to pass our helpline number along to friends and family who might need it.
